the urge to create
The idea for handmade linen-and-oak lamps came to Līga when she was thinking about lighting for their own sauna house. It should be noted that at that time, the foundation for the house that would serve as the Pļaviņu family’s oasis of peace had not yet been laid, but the idea of lighting solution was already occupying Līga’s mind.
Most likely, it was a strong urge to create, and Mārcis felt it too. A spark of inspiration ignited in both of them, and very soon Līga had sawn the first fabric samples, while Mārcis devoted himself to woodworking experiments in his newly set-up workshop. That is exactly how things are with them in life as well.
the journey of sunlight
Light is never still. It changes with every hour, every season and every passing year. It awakens gently at dawn, grows stronger throughout the day and softens again as evening approaches.
Across the seasons, it follows a larger rhythm — expanding towards the Summer Solstice, retreating towards the Winter Solstice, and finding balance at the equinoxes.
